Why Healthcare Reform is Absolutely Necessary.....
« on: September 12, 2009, 11:45:01 AM »
A few years ago one of my employees developed a chronic illness that would require expensive long term Medical care. Despite their illness, this person could still work fulltime. No problem right? Well.... not really. One year following their diagnosis my insurance carrier decided not to re-up coverage on my business. (cherry picking?) While switching coverage had little to no effect on my healthy workers, no other insurance carrier would provide care for this employee due to their "preexisting" medical condition.  So with mounting Medical bills and no hope for private insurance, this person was forced to stop working to obtain Medicare Disability Insurance.

Now think about that for a second.....a gainfully employed person becomes ill, gets booted from private insurance, and is now forced into our Taxpayer Funded Government System to avoid financial ruin.

Great system ........................ ............if you own an insurance company.

No one responds to your posts because they are lies, fantasies, and outright falsehoods.

BTW - why dont you post the website address to your business so we can see you are legitimate?

Healthcare in this country is currently rationed by insurance companies. They regularly TELL YOU what they will cover and what they won't cover based on a profit motive. The GOP knows this. They don't want YOU to understand that your healthcare is not only rationed but regularly DENIED (coverage, that is) because you have non-medical insurance adjusters standing between you and your doctor right this second.

Shut up, GOP. We know what's going on.

What the fuck is so great about an insurance company? They want your MONEY to turn a profit... That's it.

Why are Republicans sitting around and sucking the nut sacks of companies that don't give a shit about them?

They are a PAY SOURCE... They do not operate on you, prescribe anything to you, nor give a shit about you. They ARE socialized medicine.

You pay a price and then they decide who gets the money when they need it and in turn, your money goes to someone else.

Morons.

Hey jackass, if you dont like it, pay the doctor directly for the service your insurance wont cover.  Otherwise, pick another carrier.

When the govt is the only option available, there will be no choice to go somewhere else you moron.

Hey, Mons Venus, what you and the left love to do is point to inperfections in the system that will always exist no matter what system there is. Point to what is inherintly flawed, and then create something worse. I can give you tons of other horror stories in Europe and Canada under government run healthcare but Im not going to do it because it is a wast of my time. Ofcourse, this problem exists BECAUSE of government. Do you liberals ever stop to think and ask yourselves "Why is my employer providing my insurance" ? Do you think it is right that your employer provides your insurance? Do you even care? Or do you just think that govenrment will provide ANOTHER entitlement and everything will be fine?

Everyone loves medicare and apparently the other government run healthcare programs have some people that like it.

If the fact most insurance companies have a 30% overhead where medicare has a 4% overhead doesn't make you at least think that maybe the government is at least doing that right, then you will never get your head out of your ass.

Transportation seems to be ok... People like their roads paved and shit. Everyone seems to like the government program that does something for them, but if it does something for someone else, well a big middle finger to that.

Selfish douchebags.

Mons is probably on medicaid because of drug abuse and is too doped up to see your point.  The govt created this mess, not the insurance companies, via the tax code, and now the left wants santa claus to bring them more gifts and toys on christmas.

Its embarassing to see these slackers always crying and complaining for more free stuff every breath they take.

The easily neglect the fact that we are 9 trillion in debt and have a  near 2 trillion dollar deficit this year alone?

What are you talking about????? Are you serious???? Medicare is going bankrupt. And while seniors seem happy with it, (especially medicare advantage) this is the very program that the Obama Administration wants to axe to save some money (especially medicare advantage). Medicaid sucks, people arent happy with it, they dont get the care in a timely manner, and doctors have to raise thier fees on the private insurance companies to make up for thier losses on medicaid.

x 100000

These fools dont realize that the premise obama is selling in of itself is a complete lie.

If the jerkoff in chief says we are spending too much on health care and that it is causing us to go bankrupt, than what is the obvious next step????

The exact opposite of what he is saying!  How do we save money by spending trillions more and putting more burdens on existing policies???

Its pure nonsense.

I'm totally serious... 3rd party independent reports put Medicare's overhead at 4% where private health insurance is at 30. So you want to tell me I'm wrong?

Put up the reports then... I'll show you mine.

Medicare is not going bankrupt... but whatever. The sky is falling because of government paid healthcare.

Whatever.

Private health insurance has lower overhead when measured on a per person basis.
