It was the season opener.  I could care less about the Steelers and I tuned in, just because.  Your ratings wont look like that for a game mid season, with a team like the ravens.  However, Steelers fans are prob the most loyal fan in the NFL.  You guys def travel the best.

Top 10 most valuable franchises in the NFL

1.   Dallas Cowboys   1.650   2   280
2.   Washington Redskins   1.550   1   345
3.   New England Patriots   1.361   3   302
4.   New York Giants   1.183   0   230
5.   New York Jets   1.170   0   227
6.   Houston Texans   1.150   2   256
7.   Philadelphia Eagles   1.123   1   250
8.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers   1.085   3   241
9.   Chicago Bears   1.082   2   241
10.   Denver Broncos   1.081   2   240

did you see how the second highest rated game was the 06 game between steelers and miami?

not large markets like boston, new york,  washington or indy with the face of the league peyton manning

The Giants Pats superbowl was the most watched superbowl ever. And net worth has a lot to do with it.

I stand corrected.  I assume the old data said the pats/giants was the most watched game ever?  That's what I was going on.  Also, I think the big numbers have more to do with the popularity of the NFL than the steelers, alone.  If the steelers have so many fans that are tuning into watch their fav team, why does that not translate into revenue for their jerseys and gear?

big ben and troy's jersey are top 10 sellers

people all over the country with no rooting interest want to watch them, not to mention the extreme number of bandwagon and frontrunner fans that have never even been to pittsburgh

their last 3 super bowl appearances (30, 40, and 43) are 3 of the top 5 most watched super bowls ever

this was the 6th year the nfl opened on a thursday, the two highest rated games involved the steelers

the nfl gets big ratings regardless who is playing, but the steelers get the biggest ratings :)
