Did anyone else notice that this study was conducted in Thailand? What does that mean exactly? They infected twelve year old boys dressed as girls with the HIV? You can't believe results conducted in this atmosphere.
it was a double blind study. 16000 adult volunteers who were HIV negative were in the study. Half received the vaccine, have a placebo. Neither the volunteers nor the people doing the injections or followups knew who got what. the volunteers went on with their lives. after some period of time, months or years, they looked at the rate of infection in the 16000 people, and compared that to whether they received the vaccine or the placebo. the people who received the vaccine were 30% less likely to have turned positive than those who did not.
this means that either the vaccine makes it harder, but not impossible, to become infected; or perhaps gives complete protection only against certain strains of HIV; or perhaps gives complete protection to people with certain types of genetic cofactors. now they have to figure out which.
And even if they do come up with a cure for AIDS, the government will invent another disease that will be even worse in an attempt to eradicate the homosexuals
you do know that, throughout the world, almost all people with HIV are heterosexual. It is predominately a gay men's disease only in western Europe and the US.
