It's called a TEAM for a reason. I see nothing wrong with getting advices from those around you with a valued and trusted opinion. It doesnt amount to any of the analogies you listed. Phil is a smart guy and has made all the right decisions concerning his career so far....
Ultimately, the decision will be his and his alone, but there are many factors to consider like finances/family/ business/ health, and the notion that he wants to have his physique at a certain level before taking the stage again...there isnt much time before preps will start for the ASC, so whatever decision he makes will have to be soon.
I think he should step up the plate and compete at the Arnold. Phil has yet to win a big show, and taking the Arnold would be a great step in his career. After what Jay looked like at the Olympia, I would be revamping my entire perspective regarding the Olympia if I were Phil.
