Miller is good, he just got blanketed by Shields.  I agree Miller's persona is pretty annoying but he's slick on the ground and really hard to put away.  It's not an act, he really acts like that all the time, I got to meet him at an EliteXc show and he was acting a fool the whole time, he was sittin a few rows away from me.  I think Shields garbage stand-up and blanketing style is more annoying than Millers persona.  I used to be a real fan of Jake but it seems like his striking hasn't even evolved one bit in the last 5 years, he is quickly taking over Josh Koschecks old role of the blanket.

Only problem is you can't make a guy stand up with you, but you can make flat on his back for 5 rounds. Ever been smothered by a really good wrestler before? It's a LOT tougher to do anything then you think it is. The fact he kept his calm and escaped numerous times impressed me. Was it the most exciting fight I have ever seen...no, but, how is that Millers problem. He wanted to stand and bang and Shield's wanted to lay him down and smother him. Only one person can execute their gameplan and it happened to be Shield's. Thats all.

I thought it was a good fight.  When two guys are that evenly matched it can be boring to watch, but both guys are very talented fighters.  If they weren't so closely matched it would be much easier to see how good they really are.  Miller really acts the fool, but during the fight he has great composure.

I agree...both are decent fighters and I enjoyed the fight..

Jake "The Blanket" Shields bored me to death.  He wanted no part of standup, nor did he really try to finish the fight.  I'm not really a fan of either, Miller had the only real finish attempt with the RNC.  I think if he'd had 10 more seconds, the highly touted Cesar Gracie BB would have taken a nap!
