Are Drugs the problem with BB or is it the people it attracts?
« on: December 13, 2009, 03:30:01 PM »
Seems most drugs help sick people but in BB it seems to make healthy people sick.Is it the drugs or the types of people who BB attracts now that seems to be the real question here. How many Kidneys need to fail before they bring back Drug tests.

I think its perfectly normal for a heterosexual male to want to lift weights to get bigger and stronger...to dream of oiling yourself up to pose in a thong for a bunch of schmoes illustrates a definite personality defect IMO

A lot of really good bodybuilders were into other drugs before they started using AAS, even if they were completely 'clean' before becoming bodybuilders.

AAS have saved the lives of many who were on seriously destructive paths beforehand.

You can train and compete without drugs I don't see the problem.

That's because you don't have the mindset of pushing yourself to your limits. Which is why you won't ever accomplish anything.

AAS can be used responsibly.  Up to a certain point, high testosterone levels can even be beneficial for health, especially in those over 35 or with low natural levels.  That said, the way 90% of "bodybuilders" use AAS is excessive and unhealthy.

One problem I see with bodybuilding are the two-faced ass kisser phonies.

Example: I've never ever ever met one single person say anything positive about ManOnion or WhineBurger but at shows or expos those same people all pretend to really like and respect them and laugh at everything they say.

It's an industry where the ones who DON'T train or has ever trained make the money and call the shots. It's an industry where the other shot callers are strictly deviants using the vehicle bodybuilding to drive their carnal lust for muscle.

A lot of the people it attracts are closeted homosexuals with self-esteem issues and body dysmorphic disorder. You're really gonna have drug use when dudes confused about their sexuality feel injecting steroids will help them look like whatever bodybuilder is causing tingly feelings in their 'no no place'. :)

Anthony Roberts has some comments on the NYT article here:

http://www.anthonyroberts.co.za/2009/12/ifbb-on-the-run-from-the-ny-times/

Manion wouldn't even give the reporter a comment. It's a pathetic industry when a reporter from the most prestigious paper in the world can't get the head to issue a response. They have a better shot at getting Bin Laden to respond to things.

Oh, and Roberts show how Bob Chic tries to spin things too.

Bodybuilders said that they were unfairly singled out as drug abusers when athletes in most other sports were also using performance-enhancing drugs. “Like anything else, it’s use and abuse,” Cicherillo said. “We’re the ones who are visual. We’re the ones who walk around, and you see us with the big muscles.”

As you can see, Cicherillo’s comment is so stupid as to defy any kind of intelligent discussion…In other words, I’d like to comment on it, but it’s literally so stupid that I can’t even imagine someone reading my blog who would need me to actually talk about how bodybuilders are the de facto root cause, and poster boys for, steroid abuse. It’s just hilarious that Manion was running scared from the media, and the only front the IFBB could put up was to make some absurd comments about “reserving the right to test.” If and when Congress ever hauls these guys up to testify, you can bet I won’t be going anywhere for a couple of days…I’d love to hear these idiots try to defend their drug testing policies when they can’t run and hide.

Chick is right, Anthony Roberts, does he have any idea? Other sports use and abuse drugs as well, but you can't tell a tennis player is that easily because he isn't popping out of his shirt, which is because he is training for tennis and not to increase the size of his muscles.

Almost every article on bodybuilding done in the general media is negative. Can you blame Manion for not returning the call? They will take what they like and misquote him. Better to say nothing.

I guess those lines of reasoning go above someone's head who is only concerned about being jealous and putting others down.

This Roberts guy is a complete toolbag...he rants about my comment about the IFBB reserving th right, and then goes on to say how they're required to do it, Olympics, blah blah...he obviously doesn't get the fact that hes talking about the AMATEUR division...I'm the rep for the PRO LEAGUE...they're two different entities DOUCHBAG.

He then makes a bigger ass of himself talking about how no suspensions have ever been issued, etc...."As far as he knows..."  Exactly....you DONT KNOW.
