Best protein?
« on: December 10, 2009, 03:03:38 PM »
I have a question about the best protein out there, IS really whey protein " isolate" the best?

Its the easiest to digest, but does that means that your muscles will need it more often (sooner)than any other type?

Thanks !

many kinds of complete protein, but some are digested faster, such as whey.  that may be good immediately after a workout, when you want to provide protein to your muscles as soon as possible, but not good right before bed, where it would be better to have a steady source of protein throughout the night.

It depends on what your using it for, but the best protein is that of whole foods.

The best single protein source if you had to pick one from a scientific point would be Milk Protein Isolate. Its the closest thing to mother milk.It has the highest amount of naturally occurring L-Glutamine and it curdles in the stomach so it has a better sustained release.
But its not as fast as Whey Protein Isolate...
The best protein is a blend..Milk Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate, Egg Albumen, Milk Protein Concentrates, Whey protein Concentrates, and you can also add come diffrent Caseinnate protein in there as well.
All Dr Scott Connely's research on Met-RX was based on Milk Isolate.
If you used the Met -rx when it first came out, it worked like nothing else, why? Because it was mainly Milk Isolates.
The old Met-rx protein was one of the best protein powders ever created.
That is one supplement that bodybuilders, really did use.I know I lived on it...

What about casein, would it make sense to mix it with Whey Isolate?

depends..best for what. a combination is the best. whey protein is best (or actually EAAis even better) is better to bump up protein synthesis in between regular meals...casein is better overall tho. in reality fuck all that and focus on getting in enough protein at the end of the day.

meat...and a blended protien like atlarge nutrition's nitrean along with maybe some glutamine and BCAA's from time to time.

gotta mix up the veggies to get a balanced protien source if you don't like meats though.  incomplete protiens are only found in things outside the "meat and dairy" food group to my k nowledge.

uhh if you don't eat meat your not gonna get enough protein from veggies you need to be eating some else too...

also glutamine is a waste of money for bodybuilding purposes

if you eat varied food you dont have to focus on anything else than consuming enough protein (you should count all sources)
