I think its not necessary aswell, why don't just eat a bigger meal every 4-5 hours, instead of smaller ones every 2-3 hours. I've done this a lot of times before and still do it now, see no difference.
Also to the guys getting "sick" of food by eating 3000-4000 calories a day of lower calorie dense foods just to eat "clean", why don't you just eat higher calorie dense foods so you won't feel sick?

exactly ;)..thats what im saying.and these more caloric dense food wont make you fat..unless you overeat (too large caloric surplus). and often taste better than eating dry chicken all the time.

Actualy I wont bother with your links , your "scientific studys" can be twisted to show you can diet on junk food which in the real world is bullshit without a very fast metabolism or with the use of drugs..I could give you just as many links to show you smaller more frequent meals are better , but i wont waste energy as I know its correct and its the best way in the real world

Even the medical dieticians advise smaller more frequent meals ...the simple fact is this type of food set up works in the real world,in prehistoric days when you didnt have access to food as in you ate when a "kill" came along etc you stored bodyfat in higher amounts , if you eat 1 -2 big meals a day your body stores it as bf and slows the metabolism down to meet energy expenditure requirements for its daily tasks.

How can your body store more bodyfat if you're eating the same calories throughout the day as in 6 meals?
In my opinion meal frequency is a matter of convinience more than anything, agree with wavelength.
Slows the metabolism down? Why would it? The only way the metabolism can slow down in my experience is by sustained extremely low calorie diets.

no but i read a shitload about it so i know what im talking about..but im not talented enough to explain it all in a few posts. and im not just making this up..there is science to back up everything i say.

Hi nolotil, you would also be happy to know that NASSER agrees with you.  I asked him on this subject about a year and a half ago and he told me to eat 3-4 large meals a day and some snacks in between.

nolotil and wave are correct, the science cannot be denied.

Also when we are talking about frequency the only thing to really consider is protein as each type of protein has different responces in the body, i.e slow digesting vs fast digesting, to most optimally effect protein synthesis and breakdown etc

there have been recent discussion/studies that have called into question the frequency of protein digestion due to protein oxidation i.e. layne nortons

carbs/fats are energy substrates - calories are all that matter here. frequency does not matter.
