What is the primary reason you are politically active?
« on: January 04, 2010, 01:32:21 PM »
What is your main drive for engaging in politics?  What is your main goal?  Why do you do it?  Do you seek to preserve something in doing it?  If so what?

To preserve the constitution of the United States. If we the people don't hold our elected officials to their oath, then we deserve what we get.

Because I see how braindead and misinformed the masses are.

Someone has to say something-- This is still a great country, but imo is fading fast. People need to be aware of what is happening around them.

Just brainwashed in general on everything or do you have a primary thing you want people to be corrected on?  What's your ideal, that is what would the masses have to come over to for you to be happy?

That what the mainstream media tells you, or the perception it creates is not necessarily the actual truth or reality of the situation. Taking the lazy way out is precisely why we have so many low life scumbags in public office these days.

Scratch underneath the surface and look at things for what they are, not as you imagine them to be.

so for you it would mainly be to get people to care enough to look into things for their own?  Is that about right?  Thanks for replying GW, nobody else seemed to have a second to answer a basic question.

Pretty much---

Be an individual and make an informed decision for yourself. Don't be a sucker that gets swept up with the masses and allows the slime in DC to continue to perpetuate its reelection at the expense of our countries future.

This has been a GW service announcement.

well I would say that's a noble enough cause, especially considering how many don't give a shit enough to investigate for themselves.

What is your main drive for engaging in politics?  What is your main goal?  Why do you do it?  Do you seek to preserve something in doing it?  If so what?

1.  I have always found history verey interesting.

2.  I believe the founders of this nation were some of the most brilliant, thoughtful, brave, and far sighted men in history and gave us a gift we should always be grateful for.  My ancestors fled Europe because of the socialism and govt tyranny and I believe it is a duty of all of us to preserve the constitution.  When you read history, it is only chance of luck we were born in this country and enojy what we do and we must be mindful of why we do have what we do.

3.  I believe communism/leftism/marxism/socialism/fascism/ is pure evil and must be defeated, combated, exposed, and buried at all junctures.

4.  My main goal is to inform people who are ignorant of history that there are no new ideas, only rehashes and repeats of things that have been done before.  Some have resulted in prosperity and others into tyranny.

5.  I do it because I believe that we are still the best country on the planet and I dont want future generations to be subjected to the heavy boot of socialism and communism.

6.  I seek to preserve the vision of the founders of this nation and the constitution.

Because it's intellectual and far more relevant than most things in American culture.
Also, I believe we must stay active to limit the growth, power, taxation and limiting of personal freedoms by government, just like the founding fathers tried to do when they started this nation.

The "evils" of communism/socialism/marxism speak for themselves and have a much deadlier history than does "capitilism".

That being said, we are not even remotely in danger of having pure capitilism of any sense.  If anything, we are far closer to socialism/marxism now than capitilism.

I'm not politically active.

But I have an interest in politics.

That's a difference.

I agree we are not in a state of pure capitalism. We have learned our lessons. Those being, slavery, child labor, un-livable wages, unsafe working conditions, etc.

I've recently been reading a lot about communism's rise in China. Terrible stuff.

I think they both arrive to the same place, men with too much power. No man is immune from losing any to all of his morals when he holds incredible power. It is our very nature to spoil.

We have compounded our errors by "Too Big to Fail" wherein the system is supposed to purge itself of failure and mal-investment.

These criminal organizations like the big banks should have been let go in the meltdown along with GM, Chrysler, etc.

I agree with you on the above, but what is going on now is just horrible.  We are enslaving the taxpayer to future debt slavery, along with generations to follow all enrich these criminal banksters and corporate failures.

I say let them starve in the streets.  That is one reason I am getting more active.

1. I enjoy TRYING to keep up with current issues which truly effect our country and daily lives.  I don't give a shit about celebrity "scandals" or issues.

2. My goal is to research and be as educated as I can be on our history, politics, current events, etcetera so I can make better decisions when voting and doing what I can to prevent the things that a few elite would have happen to this country.  To those that would laugh at that...hey, at least I'm trying to learn and trying to fight.

3.  Because I think of myself as a fighter, a relatively intelligent person, and above all of that...an American!

4.I am very fortunate to have been born here and I want to at the very least preserve the little freedom we have left, but to ultimately gain what we have lost back which I believe is possible if people would wake up.

I kind of tied some answers into others...sorry.  If you would like me to elaborate just ask Hugo.
