Is any of this close to accurate? Just curious.
The Ten Step Process to Working for MD
1. Writers/Wannabes submit articles to MD;
2. MD prints the articles without permission;
3. Writer asks for money;
4. Steve asks for another article;
5. The writer writes another one;
6. MD publishes the second article;
7. Writer asks for payment again;
8. Steve asks for a third article;
9. Writer says he won't write until he's paid for previous articles;
10. Steve says you're too difficult to work with and has his lackey tell you that you were never promised payment in writing.
My Ten Step Program for Not Working for Blechman
1. Have dinner with Steve;
2. Talk about bodybuilders and muscle for six hours;
3. Tell him I'm going to do interviews at the Arnold;
4. He tells me he "wants that content"
5. I ask about money and he says "We'll discuss remuneration later"
6. A close "friend" of Steve warns me not to do anything for MD without a signed contract.
7. I do the interviews and quote my fee.
8. MD Lackey tells me to email the videos over ASAP before it's too late.
9. I fax over a contract and tell Lackey, no signature, no videos. Lackey tells me to send the videos without the contract because Steve's "too busy to look it over."
10. He has his wife grudgingly sign the contract, MD posts the videos, and Steve tells Lackey "Special Ed is too difficult to work with".
