Before ANYONE credits Palin's facebook with Rahm's firing...
« on: February 02, 2010, 03:36:49 PM »
Joe Scarborough reported on Dec 21, 2009 that Rahm would be fired in early 2010.  Hilary's been pushing for it forever.  Obama wanted Daschel all along - and now that the lobbyist angle isn't on the front burner, Obama can move in anyone he wants.

Rahm's role has been minimized more and more, and much of what the GOp is doing (the part of NO) is in response to Rahm's abrasiveness.

of course, that won't stop all the Palin worshippers from giving her credit for it.  She's playing smart politics (doing her rain dance when it's cloudy), but Rahm was out soon anyway.

Palin used $63,000 worth of donations to her PAC to buy books which she then gave as gifts.

But she still gets the royalties for the sales ;)

She can tithe all the donations to her PAC - keep the books - and collect a royalty check.

hahaha some people are saying she is going after Rahm because her own move on this one is an unusual one which some donors might not look upon fondly.

Dick Morris was saying that Rahm was a bad idea back when Obama first tossed out his name.  He said that Rahm only cares about Rahm and is going to end up screwing Obama.  I can't remember the exact stories, but he then gave two instances where he was directly involved with Rahm during Clinton's years and they both made Rahm look really bad.

Supposedly, Hliary can't stand him.  And he's been inneffective.  I am really hoping we don't have a Palin victory parade if the guy does get canned.  Olbermann mused that she just ensured he KEEPS his job another 4 months just so she can't claim a win.

$11k for BOOKMARKS?  WTF dude.  I was a little unsure of the book deal - but using your own PAC to buy your own books and keeping thousands of dollars in royalties = shady as hell.

some might call it a form of money laundering
supposedly her PAC has paid more for Palin's books than they've given out to conservative candidates

I have to think if Obama was using american donor $ to buy copies of his book to give away, pocketing the proceeds, and the numbers didn't equal out... wow, I have to think people would be throwing a FIT.

And again, I must reiterate.... VERY shrewd move of palin to demand Rahm be fired when he's about to get fired anyway... smart girl.

And it's a pretty bi-partisan move of her to pay a former GORE speechwriter $14k to write her speech she'll be giving for $150k at the Tea Party meeting.  Others are pulling out over a variety of issues, but she's sticking with it.  You go girl!

I don't see how it would be money laundering.  She's essentially giving back donors who gave over $100.00 some of their money, albeit in a different form.  Though, if they gave Palin over $100.00, I don't think they'll be upset getting some of it back in the form of her book.

As for the royalties, she hasn't said she's keeping them, that's just 240's spin.

Yes because Palin doesn't get nearly as much scrutiny as Obama. The media has been all over Obama and his associations, his dealings with unions, his lack of papers and they always let Palin slide on everything.Great point. ::)

240 is just spinning, diverting, hyping, and misleading again.

Like $12,ooo for her at this point is a big deal.

Its just more diversion by 240.
