Cisco is TOUGH.

I got an mba without too much study, I always aced high school and college work without trouble, I had a 137 IQ all thru elementary school, and in general, things come easy to me mentally.  I aced the network+ and MSCE tests like they were nothing.

Then the first cisco test knocked me on my ass.  Cisco requires brains plus a level of conceptualization that many don't have.  something like 91% of people fail the FIRST cisco test, the ccna.   Then, you have 4 CCNP test to get the CCNP accred.  After that, if you spend years on the CCIE, you might earn that and you can write your own ticket.

My own advice is to start with the network+ and A+... see how easy they come to you.  If the net+ is tough, the ccna is going to knock you on your ass.  Toxie has one talented brain to be where he is, along with awesome work ethic.

Thanx rob..i just happed to fall into something that comes relatively easy to me...although the CCIe is kicking my ass....i GET all the concepts on the first read BUT there r soooooo many of them...everytime i think there is nothing new to learn i get hit with 3 more books...and i'm like FUCK r you serious 
i understand it at that moment but to remember it all...phew..

but you r right...personally i wouldn't bother with the A-plus...but if you cant do the network+ and the CCENT ...ummm..then it might not be for you

rob u shoudl look into the ccent...i think you can do the ccna but you just didn't give it another shot...plus u were involved with your band at the time i believe...cant do that man..this shit required 100% commitment
