Ronnie can still make a ton of money without competing. He is an icon in bodybuilding. BSN would be crazy to let him go.

lol, BSN is fully aware that Ronnie will never compete again. But you can't deny his popularity, so they will ride it out with him until he is no longer popular enough to warrant having a contract.

actually I wouldn't be too surprised if Ronnie competes at some small show next year, just only to keep the "buzz" going.  He will place top 3 "as a gift" which means that he will qualify for the O (with no intention of competing) but it will get the magazines and blog buzzing about him.

I don't he would compete in a smaller show just to keep his name out there.  Ir would be a step "down" for certain and could only lead to bad things.  A former multiple winner of the biggest bodybuilding shows in the world now doing a show and not taking 1st place is not a good thing.  It would hurt his legacy for sure.  If by now he hasn't made and saved and investment enough to live the rest of his life just having fun then something is wrong.  He can still make some from BSN as long he keeps big and goes to shows like the ASC and Olympia and does appearances.

He is automatically qualified to compete in the Olympia because he is a former champ..

Ronnie could have legitimately beat Troy Alves at the Europa last year at age 45.  Ronnie can come back and legitimately win a lower tier show.  I think he should come back, do one small show like that, and then call it quits [without saying it] just to keep the buzz going for a few years more.
