How many republicans will jump sides on Financial Reform?
« on: April 21, 2010, 04:24:01 PM »
I just heard an interesting quote about the Financial Reform Bill:
"You couldn't dream up a fight that the White House would want more than this one"

how many republicans want to stand up and tell their out-of-work constituents that they didn't want to change the financial system, too big to fail, etc?

I'm betting 40 or 50 house Repubs end up supporting Obama's bill.

It will depend on what is taken out of the bill.If the bill still gives Geitner 100% control to decide if companies need a change VERY few will support it.If it allows congress to have a say and eliminates the 50 billion bailout scheme[which is another democrat slush fund]and includes Fannie and Freddy then they will support it.

My prediction is,if they put it through as written VERY few will support it and Republicans will run on it and have another great issue.Imagine the ads?Little Timmy Geitner, the tax cheat now has 100% power to determine how companies will run. They will clobber Obama and the democrats with it.
