Anybody buy WEC

I didn't and didn't see any bars advertising that they were showing the fights.  I think the sports world was tapped-out with the draft, playoffs and baseball in full swing right now.

No.  Found a stream on my2p2.eu.  I thought the card was shitty compared to other WEC events.  MTB/Gambwhatever and Henderson/Cerrone fights were over quick, so that was shitty.  I was really looking forward to another Henderson/Cerrone war, and I was also excited to see Gambwhatever take a beating.  Neither happened.  There was some good excitement on the undercard though.

I bought it and wasn't too impressed by it at all.  The free prelim fight between Leonard/Korean Zombie was the most entertaining.  Aldo destroyed Faber, but then got a case of Anderson Silva-itis in the last round and a half or so.  He essentially had a dead man standing in front of him and let his foot off of the gas big time.  Many Gamburyan is an idiot.  I wish Damacio Page would'nt have gotten injured so he could've mixed it up with Scotty Jorgensen.  It was a TUF finale calibre card for the price of 50 bux.

I had a feeling it would all go that way.  I'm surprised they wanted $50 for that.  I opted to watch the Kessler vs Froch fight (for free) which turned out to be a barn-burner!

I forgot about that one until I read about it this morning, I watched the WEC then the Angulo/Julio and Adamek/Arreola fights.  I'm hearing fight of the year about Kessler/Froch, I have to wait until it hits on-demand before I can watch it.

Yeah!  Technically it wasn't great... but both guys turned it into a brawl!!  Contrast of styles... Kessler throwing nice combinations while Froch trying to counter and throwing looping bombs.  Both men were cut and bleeding... Kessler's was bad.

Both had great conditioning.  I had it a draw... maybe Kessler by a point. Fight of the tournament so far.

Im shocked and pissed off that Gamburian won. He is one of the few guys in MMA that agitates me to watch. Chute it's funny that you said Aldo caught some Anderson Silva fever because Aldo and Anderson are both managed by the same guy. Coincidence? I hope so. It would suck for Aldo to turn into another Anderson.

I saw it and I thought it was one of the better cards of the year.  Aldo is a stud.  Henderson schooled cowboy and the Garcia.Jung fight (prelim on Spike) was insane...best of the year so far.

There is a recent interview floating around in which Anderson is asked which fighters he looks up to or something like that and one of his answers was Jose Aldo, he also said something like "I'm glad were not the same weight or he'd kick my ass"-or something pretty close to that.  Manny should commit genocide on himself.

With the exception of the free fight, all the other fights were pretty average.  I liked it better when it was still called WEC.

I was not that impressed for the 44.95 I paid. The last fit was the most entertaining with the Korean Zombie.

I can see if they charge $20, but $45 is nuts.  I make a comfortable living, and have good amount of disposable income, but I would never spend $45 on WEC.  From a fan's perspective, I think Zuffa made a brutal decision in making WEC events PPV.  I think they'll try to milk whatever they can from viewers, and if it doesn't work they'll discontinue WEC and move the weight classes to UFC.  They can throw most of the lighter fights on the undercard and use the belt fights for the main card.

The real buy numbers would be interesting to see.  I equate WEC to midget wrestling.  The midgets may have as much or more skill as the big guys, but it doesn't have that 'wow' factor.  Would you watch an all midget Wrestlemania?  I would if it was free, but that's about it.
