At this point maybe? Dustin won the MVP over both those guys. You'd take him in a second and you know it.

Just named player of the month 8)

A .390 average usually earns you that award.  :D

Good article on ESPN yesterday talking about whether or not the Sox have already dialed it in. And it's only May! LOL!

u know at this point body88 your beloved red sox have absolutley no chance to catch the yanks and rays with that abysmal lineup,j.d drew is there biggest bat right now.wow great job by epstein to focus on defense and pitching where did it get them ,swept by the orioles hhhaaaaahhaa,,,,look at the yankee lineup and right now they have a cold texiera, arod, and granderson on the shelf, but they have good bats on the bench which the sox don't have, thames, winn, cervelli, pena, the yankees have the injury bug too and there depth is much, much, better this yr.dice kkkkkkkk is a major bust,,,the closer is unimpressive papelbon,i had to endure 04 to 08 when the yankees did what the sox did this yr get the wrong players at the wrong time in there careers.and play mix and match just to keep up with the sox,the yankees have better chemistry, younger players here and there to mix with the vets.

So, you're saying the sox can't make up the whole 4 games the Yankees have on them  ::)  The season is what a quarter over?

Dice K has won 18 and 15 games for the sox and also helped them to win a second ws; he's not a "major bust".  A major bust would be someone who is totally worthless. Dice K has had injury issues over the last couple of years; he has already shown he can win in the AL East. You don't win 18 games if you are a "major bust".

It's funny how the sox have one bad year (and or have started poorly) and all the yankees fan are already beating their chests.

The sox have plenty of very good young players. Their problem is that Ortiz is done and guys arent hitting right now. As for injuries, the sox have plenty of those, too.

Last year the Sox beat the Yankees 9 times straight and in the end, what did that mean?

It's good thing all the other sports teams in Boston are busy contending for titles - as usual. How about them Knicks? How about them Rangers? The Giants?

Friend, I don't really care if the sox have an off year, I've seen more titles won in my life than 99% of the population  :D

Here are the offensive stats for the yankees and the sox. The sox are ranked just below the mighty yankees.

  5. New York Yankees
 AL 27 914 151 252 45 10 34 141 419 117 157 24 6 .364 .458 .276
  6. Boston Red Sox
 AL 29 1018 150 280 71 2 40 146 475 116 199 10 6 .351 .467 .275
.

i like your tenacity to keep the faith in beantown ,it still comes down to wins and losses and right now the yankees are ahead and doing it with what boston bragged about and thats pitching.and beckett just got pounded and looked like a major asshole in doing so with his wildness and hit batters.

When did Boston "brag" about anything? Is that even possible? Who is this person and when did he/she start speaking for an entire city?  Infact, most Sox fans were/are pissed about the whole defense thing. But honestly, due to bad luck (Ortiz shitting the bed + missing out on Tex), what other options did they have this offseason? Who would you have signed to be that big thumper in the middle? This is your chance to do Theo's job...who would you have signed this offseason? Lackey was a good move. Cameron was a good move (until he got hurt). Who was out there to hit behind Youk and solidify the middle of the line up for the sox?

Later in the season, you will see the Sox trade Bucholz or Bard for a big time hitter. Adrian Gonzalez is a guy who has been talked about as a potential trade option for the sox.

The sox are in a funk right now. Most of your claims are highly exaggerated, anyway.

I mean honestly, the Yankees are not even the best team in the AL East. Of course they are a very good team, but the Rays are deeper and more athletic.

u despise the yankees that u back track your horrible team that was assembled by the genius epstein that u now praise the redsox killers the devil rays as  better  as the yankees ,as i said cervelli, pena and some younger bullpen pitchers have added much depth to the yankee lineup ,and this is following yet another trouncing by your beloved redsox 14-3,they better shore up some offense and quick or its 2011 to think about.and a funk is not getting outscored 24-6 over 2 games.

I can't evan read this. I'm not trying to be a dick...the first part makes no sense to me.

You rip Theo, yet over his time with the Sox, they have had more success than Cashman and the Yankees (and spent less money doing it).

It's been 31 games...there is a 130 more to go...get back to me when all this actually matters.
