I have nothing against Frye, but the dude was a 60 year old boxing trainer from Hawaii.

Who cares though really who wins a drunked brawl? Frye was drunk to the point he could barley stand and did more damage to the guy then he recieved. You would know this if you saw the whole clip, not just the last 35 secs.  Frye was never the best fighter but would fight anyone any time and give it his all. Christ, he had two broken ankles, a torn mcl and a severed achillies tendon against Shamrock from the heel hooks Ken sunk, and he still fought on and won. Never walked the same again and that led to his battle with pain meds which he over came. I honeslty hope Don retires and just sticks to coaching though. He still has the heart and will to fight but his body is too broken down. Frye will be remembered as a two time UFC tournament champ and one of the first MMA fighters to cross train. He had a 3rd degree black belt in judo, was an NCAA wrestler and a gold gloves boxer. Should be in the UFC hall of fame, but they would rather have "Mask" over a guy like Frye. Hell even Evan Tanner should be in there over Mask.

Actually Frye WAS one of the best fighters on the planet at one time. Good enough that the UFC kept him well away from Royce Gracie fully aware that he would have put a serious beat down on him...

Exactly, he started to cartoon his shit after he joined pridefc :P, that's the best way I could say it. He wone very big names in ufc at the time when they were young and at their best like gary goodridge etc. He still was an ass kicker in Pride.
He allways showed great pain tolerance.

and lol  ;D

Yep the Gracie's disappeared pretty quick when big wrestlers who would actually punch on the ground (unlike Severn who preffered to slap) appeared on the scene like Don Frye, Mark Coleman and Mark Kerr. They would have headbutted Royce into a coma.

For sure. Like Tank Abbot said the Gracie mystique was alot of skill and alot of BS. Gracie did in fact fight some big crazy mofos, but he didnt necessarily fight the best at the time. There were plenty of guys who would have whooped him back then.

Agreed, Frye by murder R1.
Gracie was a bit of a cocky dick too.

He was certainly one of the better strikers in MMA in his prime. Was a former gold gloves boxer and his dirty boxing was very effective in MMA. I think in the Takayama fight he didnt care much about technique given his opponent Takayama's only fighting experiene was professional wrestling.

To Shamrocks credit he had never fought someone wearing a Gi before and anyone who has rolled or fought someone with a gi knows how difficult it is especially if you have never faced an opponent in one before. To a bjj black belt the gi is a weapon and gives them a huge advantage over their opponent if he is not wearing one. The second time they fought to a draw because there were no decisions allowed (Royces request) but Shammy would have won a Unanomous decision on the judges cards no doubt. Gracie's always had special rules in their favor for all their fights.

I only said that because of the video of him getting Ko'd. His technique was pretty bad, but yea back in the UFC he seemed unbeatable.

pfffff, who cares, just minor details, Don didn't even take it seriously  8)

Most exciting and entertaining MMA fight I have seen so far.
