Is that why there are like 200 competitors in those categories?  ???

Doesn't matter if the high falutin' big wheels like Goodrum and Shizzo stay home.....

There are 200 competitors in those categories because it is easier to attain and because it's become a marketing gimmick for trainers at the local NPC level.

Most people who are fans of Bodybuilding cannot name 5 MPD PRos or 5 Bikini People.

Regardless of what clowns like Bob Chick and Co say, Pro BB is on life support compared to the meteoric rise of new divisions.  Contracts for mens pro are drying up.  It's obvious something is wrong.

Are you kidding? Name like any of the YouTube fitness celebrities, same type of physiques.
They are far more popular than the top 5 Olympian bodybuilders, especially since Kai is out.

YouTube people may have the same type of physiques but they are not competitors. People aren't flying out to vegas to see the bikini o. Many people go for the weekend and the expo which includes the physique competitions.

The serious bodybuilding fans are there to see the mr Olympia. The ones that blow their money and vacation time for the weekend are there for MENS bodybuilding

I believe it has. Obviously the majority of the people in bodybuilding feel that the physiques have spiraled out of control in the past 15-20 years, but I believe the quality and the likeability of your average pro has gone way down as well.

You will never again see the characters and physiques that the 70's-90's bodybuilders had. Maybe social media is partly to blame for oversaturating bodybuilder's to nauseating levels.

Look at this years Olympia lineup. It has to be the worst in the IFBB's history.

I used to really look forward to the Olympia. Now I couldn't give two shits. And it saddens me. Hopefully the new "classic" division will evolve to become the standard and move bodybuilding back in the direction it should be going.

I think this will happen because it's still bodybuilding without the yuck factor and they train legs. Give it s few years and if they luck out with charismatic people and some good rivalries they will be a prime spot
