Haney didn't have a lower body either and truthfully, I think Christian's upper torso looked more powerful than Haney's that year. He was also 6'1" and had even more room to fill out.
Haneys torso overpowered everything, and he was off his best shape, softer, smaller, and as you said, legs not up to par.
Christians upper body was maybe better than Haneys, and he had good delts and arms to boot, but the fact that Haneys small legs were bigger than Mike's, made it even more evident, he was all upper body.
Shawn Ray was the best. Labrada was riding the 89 wave, he was my favourite, but Ray the best that day. Gaspari was finished in 88.
But, the fact that a massive and conditioned (compared to Labrada, Ray, Gaspari) Yates could not displace Haney either the following year, what hope did anyone have that year? Areigning Mr O comes in with an advantage.
