for a more consistent author I much prefer Robin Cook or Michael Crichton (RIP)  great, great writers

I've read all of their works and really like them both. MC was great at Sci-fi and Sphere was a really good read. His non-fiction book Travels wasn't too shabby either.

Reading Robin Cook's novels makes you want to stay away from hospitals, lol.

All of Stephen Kings books are rushed and sucking at the end.  That is why I never read them any more.  It is like he spent so much time and effort on the first 90% of the book and then a half hour writing the ending.

The ending of "IT" was the most atrocious bullshit ever to exist.

Stephen King's always been a phenomenal writer who can't stick the ending.  When I finished the "false" ending of Dark Tower VII, I felt pretty satisfied, but getting through the second one is kind of like riding downhill without brakes; I wanted to stop, but it just kept moving.  Still, I'm planning to re-read the entire series in the next year; it was darn entertaining!

I've read it over the course of a lifetime, I started at 15 and finished in my mid 20's... very dissapointing, that accident really did fuck him up.. the first 2 or 3 books were phenomenal, then towards the end it started to get really weird and the last book in my opinion was garbage... the sum of 6 tomes: Roland the gunslinger gets looped back through time to the beginning of book one (sorry for spoiler) I felt really crappy after waiting so many years for a resolution which King promised, I expected a grand huge finish...instead literally everyone was let down.

i agree and disagree....i ws his universe to ruin....and ruin he did

Oh I have read part of the dark tower, what I like about the stand is the end time apocalypic feeling which I don;t get with the dark tower, they are sometimes too far
fetched and I loose interest.

It's an account of the zombie Apocalypse as told by various survivors from around the world. Awesome book.

Excellent book.  Covers every single scenario you can think of.  After a zombie movie comes out, I have to laugh at the comments by people stating how they would hole up in a basement or bunker, or on a cruise ship and survive.

For a man in his twenties, I spend a worrying amount of time thinking about my anti-zombie drills.

put gasoline over somebody and set him alight but I don't want to kill anybody :D

Flagg from the stand is who roland is chasing in the dark tower....flagg also makes an appearance in insomnia...so does roland..

SK said that the dark tower series is the linchpin that holds ALL of his other works together....

for the apocalypic feeling u have to get past the first book and read the drawing of the 3 and the wastelands
