Again, if you're fighting two guys that know how to kick the shit out of your legs, or simple chocking techniques, all the boxing skills in the world aren't going to do shit.
this isnt about what they know its about what you know and you being able to throw some leg kicks that arent meant to put a person down on the first kick is going to get your ass handed to you if your fighting more than one person.  ::)

same goes for chokes...while your choking out one guy his buddy is half a sec away from teeing off on your dome  ;)

you need to be able to keep someone at a distance which equates to strikes and be able to get them off of you quickly if the grab you which equates to throws...

I guess the question is now "What are the best and worst martial arts for streetfighting against washed up MMA fighters who need money or redneck MMA fans?"

All of that MMA bullshit doesn't work outside of TV. Even most basic punches you see in boxing and mma won't be that great because you don't have your fist taped up. You'll bust your hand. What good are submission holds or grappling if there isn't a ref to call the fight? They leave you completely vulnerable to anyone else as well. How are you going to do your widdle leg kicks if the guy you are fighting has a friend behind you who pulls down your pants? Put someone in a submission hold and watch them grab a rock on the ground and break your hand or watch them pull a knife from their pocket and stab you.

If you want to know what really works, here's what I would recommend. Quickly shit your pants and pull out the turd. Hold it up like it's a bomb about to go off. That's it, fights over.

  • THERE WAS A FIRE FIGHT!!!!
a gun?  Oh brother ::)  Who carries a gun around?  And if you do, you better be ready to use it.  And, if you do use it, you better be ready for the consequences.

i carry.  but i've also studied TKD, wing chun and have trained in kickboxing as well.  Since I don't alwauys carry I find it best to still not do anything stupid to warrant a fight.
