The Texas born man’s name was known in both the music and food industries. His big country hit “Big Bad John” made it to number one in the country music charts in 1961. He also started the infamous sausage company in 1969, and after making it very popular, sold it to Sara Lee Foods in ’84, staying on as chairman and spokesperson. He has also has a major impact on some other famous people.
