I grew up (31 years) in Hawthorne (home of the Beach Boys) and Manhattan Beach. For things to do within a 2.5 hour drive there is no place better to live than LA. From ocean sports to mountain sports, amusement parks, forests, Mexico, restaurants, museums and cultural diversity LA tops them all. Of course their is alot of shit that comes with it but I lived there for 30+ year and never encountered the real bad stuff. But, I have done literally everything you can do there and I wasn't looking to move cause I had a very good career taking off and lived good but then I went to Hawaii. If you are to live in LA I would suggest living in one of the oceanfront communities.I have traveled quite a bit. I spent 3 months in Florida around 1987. About a month in Ft. Meyers and about 2 months in Ft. Lauderdale. I had a beautiful suite at the Days Inn in Lauderdale the whole time. I had so much fun there and just love Florida. I used to say the only place I would rather live than LA was Florida.Quote Till I came to Hawaii in Jan. or Feb. of 1989. The Special Olympics brought me over and put me up at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and after just the first day I wanted to move there. I met with the biggest agent in Hawaii and she said if I ever come back I could work easy there. So I decided to move there and on Aug. 3 1989 I moved to Hawaii. Everyday in Hawaii was a vacation to me. I have never lived more than 5 or 10 minutes from the beach. Then in 2007 decided to move to Vegas and still here. I am looking to go back to Hawaii in Dec. or Jan. and spend the winter and spring there and live in Vegas for the Summer and Fall.

Hey guys, I'm from Denmark and I'm moving to San Diego the 18th of August to attend SDSU - so since it sounds like there's a lot of guys from that area here - can you recommend a good place to live in SD when going to SDSU? I've been recommended Pacific beach - but it's expensive and far away from SDSU.. Any other recommendations? Also - good places to train in SD? I like hardcore places with lots of freeweights without too much bullshit, not those big commercials gym where you get lost in the machinepark. Hope you can help /Morten.
