I still hear it's a good excersise tho.

You have to ease into them, gradual increases, good warmup, keep the midsection tight. First signs of strain, put the weight down. It pays to do sldl's too.

Hey I threw my back out once doing the same thing.  I bent over to pick up a cinnamon roll I dropped and fuck my back went out.  i feel for you man.
