Well, 1.5 million can also get you the Bugatti Veyron, which again looks like a squashed VW Bug, or a Ferrari 599XX, but you can't keep that on your premises, Ferrari houses it, and you can only rent it for track days.

Before the Economic meltdown, Chrysler had a Concept car based off of the Viper chassis with the SRT8 engine. It was called the Firepower...it had a upscale Aston Martin look to it and the interior was blazing. They envisioned as a Corvette with class sorta thing.
Now that the Italians have Chrysler and Dodge (with Gilles--the one who styled the 300) as CEO, Ferrari has been tasked to create the next Viper, they may keep the V10...with 8.3 liters in Ferrari's hands, imagine what they could do with it...but they won't.
