The Treadmill - why do people hang on to it
« on: September 17, 2010, 09:40:09 PM »
Why the hell do people hang on to the treadmill when they run or walk on it? Is there some magical thing they have to hang on to if they walk or run outside?

you need to hang on to it when you start increasing the incline above 6 or 7....because it just becomes ungainly walking thta fast up  a steep incline

it defeats the purpose.  You can use less of an incline and not hold on to the front and it will be more effecctive.

I dunno Jay and Victor all hang on and get more ripped than anyone on this board. I think 30-40 minutes into cardio your legs get tired and your balance goes out the window on a steep incline, but you can still keep burning calories if you hang on. I see no harm in it.

i dont like it. i fucking hate it when i see some fat ass holding on for dear life. dont they understand that the incline is negated when they hold themselves upright? how can they not understand that?
