I think it should be the goal of every American to be tolerant.  The mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.

That is why I also propose that two gay nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance within the mosque.
We could call the clubs "The Turban Cowboy" and "You Mecca Me So Hot".
 
Next door should be a Butcher shop that specializes in pork and have an open barbeque with spare ribs as its daily special.
 
Across the street, a very daring lingerie store called 'Little Burkahs' with sexy mannequins in the window modelling the goods.
 
Next door to the lingerie shop, there would be room for an Adult Toy Shop (Koranal Knowledge?), its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side, a liquor store. Maybe call it "Morehammered"?

Just because you have a right to do something, doing it doesn't make it right (or whoever the saying goes).

If the builders are to be believed, the center's supposed to be a building that promotes tolerance or whatever, with a mosque built in.

If they really want to promote islam as a religion of peace and tolerance, or whatever the fuck their message is, why don't they throw that money into rebuilding the wtc?  They can say something like "this isn't an admission of guilt of blowing the towers up, it's just a sign of compassion for the wrong that's been done here".  That would really slap the shit out of everyone who's an islamophobe.  Of course, these assholes would never do it.
