P90X, Effective program or Scam?
« on: October 17, 2010, 05:42:48 AM »
So, Roger and I were woken up from a long night of raw sex by our TVs wake-up alarm system that automatically turns the screen on to any random channel at a preset volume level.

To our surprise (both being workout enthusiasts), we were woken up to a P90X infomercial filled with 40-50+ year old studs raving about the great results from the P90X program in as little as 90 days.

Any truth to this hidden gem?

It's a great cardio workout...It is pretty challenging. Try it..It's something different, you do it for a little while, then go back to your regular workouts...When I take time off from the gym,I do circuit training, and p90x..If you don't compete(like myself)It's a nice little switch.

Look sister, if you just woke up like I did (covered in cum), the last thing you want to do is mess with the search option.  In the time it took you to link that jpeg and formulate a second response, you could have simply replied with either a yes or no in terms of the program's efficacy.

Stop being so straight, gawd...

Most of the guys on this board couldn't keep up with the program.  Body weight exercises are not easy.  It's a good program but of course it's not bodybuilding.  I find most devoted body weight exercisers  are super lean and athletic.

I live near a poor city in NJ.  In an abandoned play ground were a bunch of guys working out doing such things as chins, pushups and dips. These poor guys didn't have any money for a gym but they were ripped and muscular.  In the next town over where the rich suburban guys worked out in a gym that had everything the guys were pudgy and looked out of shape.

What I'm trying to point out is that you can get into incredible condition without a gym using body weight exercise and running.  Maybe not a bloated speedo wearing look but a real functional physique.

Yes sir... I have a home gym and Box.. I also work out at 5th ave gym,I also circuit train on Saturdays, and do p90x when I start to get bored...I'm not committed to any "one" type of exercise ,I love to work out with my son..He 's a young stud,so to keep up with him is a challenge.. People make far too much out of working out,If I do this,it's gonna mess with that? Just work out ! Who gives a shit about anything else?

I use parts of P90X, it's very high paced, varied, offers stretch, balance and yoga excercises as well (try the yoga, it's killing).
It doesn't go for the quick fix route, but tells it like it is: consistency, and hard work.
I've been able to maintain my muscularity, tone up a bit and get my a bit dryer (around 10% BF I'm guessing) on doing mostly P90x style excercises, I did add some extra squat and deadlift variations because I felt those were lacking.
It's not a bodybuilding program, but very useful for general fitness and may get you to a decent athletic build.
BTW doing the full program requires a decent level of endurance and fitness as a starting point.

So in closing: it's not revolutionairy but it's pretty complete and varied.
