Leban's fighting at 205 ?

Can't see Stann making 185.

A lot of big names and hasbins, but really shitty fights imo.

Guida will own Gomi. Stylistically its a horrible matchup. Nelson wont gas, but Carwin will either knock him out or faint. If Vera loses (which Im certain he will), I would think his UFC career is over.

Frankie Edgar +125 vs. Gray Maynard -155 [LW title
another 25 minutes of Maynard throwing frankie around like a rag doll as in the first fight

Shane Carwin vs. Roy Nelson
Carwin has yet to prove he can hold his hands up after 5 minutes so the longer this one goes the better chances "pudge" has

Clay Guida vs Takanori Gomi
hands down the most interesting fight on the card if gomi's take down D is still as good as it was in pride

Chris Leben vs. Brian Stann
185er against a 205er so who knows

Thiago Silva vs. Brandon Vera
toss up

Nate Diaz vs. Dong Hyun Kim
Diaz is gonna be pulling rabbits out of his ass for years to come @170, and this time next year, he's gonna be real close to gettin a shot at GSP

- Phil Baroni vs. Brad Tavares
- Antonio McKee vs. Jacob Volkmann

WHAT?!  Shitty fights?  This card looks great to me.  The only "has-been" is Vera on that card.  baroni doesn't count cause he's never "been" in the first place..  lol.

Seeing what Carwin brings will be interesting.  Nelson's chin is granite, so this should be an interesting fight.
Edgar/The Bully round 2?  NICE!

I feel that its a mismatch of styles that are going to produce horrible fights to watch. I can't stand Clay Guida, so maybe Im biased-- but his dry hump to you the mat style while throwing bitch strikes is going to dominate Gomi because he is 10x stronger, a great wrestler and has ridiculous cardio. However, its going to be a 30-27 snooze fest. Carwin and Nelson is also going to be a bore. Either Carwin will knock Nelson out, or Nelson will weather an early onslaught and pull off a mercy killing submission or even a tko. Chris Leben is just garbage. I hate watching his fights and moving up to fight another 185lb fighter that is moving up in weight class is a testament to Dana Whites opinion of his skill set. There are 10-12 other guys White could have put in the ring against Leben. It might be a decent fight, but I doubt it.

Paulo Thiago is absolutely going to destroy Sanchez. That fight might be over in the time it takes to walk to the bathroom, take a piss and walk back. Vera is also going to get destroyed.

I hate Phil Baroni, and Jacob Volkmann may be the most boring and unentertaining fighter to ever set foot in the octagon.

I would watch this card for free. But no shot in hell I would pay money for this crap card.

I guess you gave a shit enough to reply. I'm surprised though. With your extensive arsenal of MMA knowledge and your numerous life long friendships with MMA superstars, I'm in awe that you even acknowledged one of my postings.

The UFC was on a role putting on great New Years cards until this one.  I may be excited to see a Maynard Edgar main event but the average fan could give a fuck less about that fight.  I wouldn't be shocked if Roy Nelson gets a win against Carwin,  that's a dangerous fight for Carwin's first fight back.

I saw how long it was and that you wrote it.  Didn't read a word of it.  Anything more than two sentences from you is a bunch of nonsensical blabber.

Really?  You read that shit?  I'm impressed ::)

And, if I'm such a UFC "ball licker" how do you explain my ranking Alistar over Lesnar?  Or, the fact that every time a post something about Dana, it's negative?

Just because I think Fedor is an overrated and over the hill fighter, doesn't mean I only like the UFC ::)

Why do you moderate this board again? You know nothing about MMA, you contradict yourself and make stupid statements in almost every thread and you post under numerous gimmicks. You ranted on and on about Fedor not being a top HW because he has never fought in the UFC, but you rank Overeem as the # 1 HW? You are a delusional moron who knows nothing about fighting and is too stupid to moderate this board. Go pretend to be friends with some more imaginary MMA superstars and leave the analysis to everyone else.

LOL.  The moment you start to call people names and fabricate stuff to attack them, is the moment you begin a true meltdown...lol!

I mod here, not because I am an MMA expert, but because I keep the board clean of people who don't know how to debate an issue w/o melting down or slinging personal attacks.

Consider yourself warned :)

You should have banned yourself 6 months ago if you were truly following that criteria. In this thread I made a posting that had nothing to do with you and you decided to personally attack me. If the truth bothers you that much, then you should stop posting here. Take your warnings and stick them up your ass.  :-*

I don't like to put anything in my ass, but thanks for the offer.

And, I've not attacked you. All I've said is that no one reads your nonsense.

answer this mindspin

Very simple.  I think Fedor is overrated because the vast majority of his wins are over no name cans with records that have more losses than wins or less than 5 fights.  Feel free to look at his record on sherdog...it's quite pathetic.  Also, he was aggressively pursued by the UFC and offered more money than any fighter in history, including an instant title shot.  He turned it down to avoid higher level competition.  He has also been ducking Alistar.  And, apparently his next fight is another bullshit gimmick fight against Bautista ::)

Alistar, on the other hand, may have more losses on his record, but at least he has fought higher level opponents.  And, what he's been able to do in K1, is quite remarkable.  I think he would absolutely annihilate Fedor.  He's begging for the fight but Fedor is ducking it.

That said, if Lesanr can get past Cain this weekend, I will rank him above Alistar.
