America needs to be in a constant state of war
« on: November 02, 2010, 12:56:53 AM »
In order to maintain the actual place the US has in the world as one of the last real superpower - it needs to maintain a constant state of war.
The annoying thing for me is when I have to listen to fellow Europeans that got accustomed to the pacifistic Europe and constantly bash the US... Conveniently forgetting that the US is doing the heavy lifting by playing global police - Europe could not afford to be what it is right now without the US neoliberal world politics.
Take the soviet union for example - back in 1990 a secret unspoken pact was made that the whole world will treat the Soviet Union as a world power but only if they don't act as one, that's exactly what happened in Georgia - the Soviets got tired of the image of if they can superpower and simply started to act like one - which is extremely dangerous since it unbalances the balance and nobody knows what to do next.

Like it or hate it but the US would not be the same without Europe as much as Europe could not exist the way it does right now as the last wellfare state without help of the US - its all about balance and the US needs Europe for the counterbalance.

I personally love the USA - but you don't  need to be a super smart guy to see that the great aera of the USA is coming to an end - I call it point zero.

America doesn't need to be in a constant state of war to be #1.  The US became #1 because the manufacturing center of the world (Europe) was severely crippled after WW2 and America took over developing and producing new technologies.

During the 90's the US experienced it's most peaceful and prosperous time in history.  During the era (Clinton) America was unbelievably powerful.

we could probably do with agriculture what other countries do with oil production. (and soon enough, so could brazil)

that could make us as 'strong' - and probably hated - as we could ever want
