Can a candidate win major office using ONLY Fox news?

We saw candidates like Angle and Odonnell- who spoke almost exclusively with FOX - fail to win with voters.  As FOX admits they're pretty much 'selling" the RNC primaries, will candidates like Palin lose because they avoid the 'evil' media?

The marketing of Republican presidential candidates is already underway at the network. In a new special, host Bret Baier will profile 12 top potential GOP candidates in 12 days. The network has landed interviews with 11 of the of the 12.

Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum are four Republican presidential contenders that are already employees of Fox News. At least one of them, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, is hedging bets on Fox News being the sole driver for the GOP campaign, expressing little desire to talk to any other outlet.

"I will not talk to reporters who have an obvious bias or vendetta or are going to turn my words into something that they're not meant to be," Palin told Fox News host Shepard Smith on Tuesday.

And --- Is THIS why many in the GOP establishment DO NOT want palin to win that 2012 slot?  To win - you GOTTA speak to reporters.  You just gotta.  Palin refusing to speak to ANY reporters during a general election run would be a nightmare - we saw it this year, if you have any doubt.

She's great at playing the victim card - so any tough Qs will probably be viewed as "gotcha" questions, and she'll just keep tossing the reporters.

You get a guy like haley barbour - he will CHARM reporters from every station.  She's going to spit venom on them.

As much as I like Sarah, and I have from day 1, and have ZERO doubt in my mind she would be a far better POTUS than obama on so many levels, my hesitation about supporting her is that she can't win due to other women and the fickle womens' vote. 

Women will not vote for other women in the same way they will for a man. 

Men would gladly vote for her, but other women would not.  Look what happened to Fiorina, Meg, Whitman, even Haily in SC.    Yes, Martinez won in NM, but overall I still think Thune/Christie is an unbeatable Ticket.

Sarah should stick with what she is doing - rallying the troops, taking out the RINO's in the primaries, and advancing the Tea Party takeover of the GOP.

You keep forgetting the perception about Palin's confidence that the majority of americans possess - regardless of gender!

You are using gender as the excuse she can't win.  It's not about that.  it's about the fact she's seen as not prepared for the job by the majority of PEOPLE.  And we have polling data to back that up

Here is my take - look at SC, NV, CT, CA, and many other states where very good women candidates ran.  Talk to many women and they will tell you they wont vote for another woman.

here's my take - You assign false credibility and competence and appeal to people who don't deserve it.  Paladino could have won - but he acted like an angry maniac.  Angle should have won - but she acted like a religious prick.  Whitman was a jerk, plain and simple, with no emotional connection to voters.

You hate obama - but he sure had that emotional connection with many voters - he brought POSITIVE passion and hope from them, in a time many people wanted hope.

But, I suspect you'll keep telling yourself that Palin's venom is attractive, that her ignorance is endearing, etc.  You'll keep blaming her gender for the fact she's just viewed (right or wrongly) as a hillbilly not quite prepared for the job.

You'll keep on starting Palin threads instead of Thune threads, and your only personal impact on the 2012 elections will be that you spent 4 years selling a POS candidate that people will ignore as they vote Obama in 2012.

I want Thune/Christie - how hard is that for you to grasp.  I don't want her to run since i don't think she can win, but I will support her if she does win the nominiation over obama since her policies are 10000000000000000000000 times better than his.

I think it's hard to grasp because you start many palin threads, but very few thune or christie threads.

Christie isn't running.  He made that so clear this week.

If Obama wins in 2012 - which I don't think he will, Christie is good to go.  

As for Thune - I really see him as the best possible choice since he will get all of the following:  

1.  2nd amend cons
2.  Pro Life Cons
3.  Chamber of Commerce Cons
4.  White women vote  
5.  Mid west and heartland vote (Iowa, ohio, MO, MN, WI)  
6.  Run the table in the South by far  
7.  Country Club Cons.

The time has come for them to start raising money for their 2012 runs.  It'll become obvious in the next few months who is testing their 2012 waters and getting ready.
