Okay I'm good with that
Here is the deal on that.
I went to grad school for physics at Miami of Ohio.
The dept chair showed me the file cabinet with the applicant files.
The top drawer was for US students and had about 30-40 active files. I assume it was mostly white based on who was enrolled.
He said if you were a US citizen with a B avg and a BS in physics you had about a 60%( or better) chance of getting into grad school there.
The rest of the cabinet was international students, mostly asian from China, some from India , Malaysia, etc
It was at least 500 or more files and he said they only take 5-6 each year.
In other words, they take the top 1% of all applicants.
China has 1.3 billion people, that is aprox billion more then we have with our 315 million in the USA.
There top 1% in China is still a hell of a lot of people.
