Douglas Allen Smith Jr. chose his new name because of an NBC character named Dr. Devon "Captain Awesome" Woodcomb on the TV show “Chuck.” Wow, way to go! Isn’t that the way we all choose our names? Uh, wait, it’s not. But you must admit the guy was really inventive.
Okay, it’s really hard to get through this without laughing but let’s sum up the whole Captain Awesome thing. Douglas Allen Smith Jr. got a judge to sign off on his name change only after swearing he was serious and was not going to commit anything fraudulent. This part is really weird but he also got the same
