wide elbows on the triceps pushdown
« on: January 03, 2011, 02:03:43 PM »
whoever recommended this for the long head of the triceps, THANKS!  I tried it today and it really hits it great.  Sorry I forgot who you were, but I really appreciate it.

you cant isolate any of the heads of a muscle. the muscle does one thing- extends the forearm.

all three heads are required to keep it stable and move the levers in the right plane about the joint and from the insertions.

you can work individual angles marginally harder, but not even close to isolation.

yeah the short-head was firing as well, but more tension was on the long head,  as much more is usually on the short-head when I do it with the elbows in technique.  I figure switching it up like will help maintain balance.
