Lets pretend the interplanetary extraterrestrials were the ones who were in contact with these ancient civilisations and gave them this advantage knowledge... Why would ET's come down to this planet thousands of years ago, make humans think they are gods, teach them about the universe and planets and then for no reason disappear, destroy most of the evidence that there ever existed- and then go underground for several thousands of years just to reemerge in the 1940's

Why are the nature of the aliens so deceptive if they are here to help us as so many contexts claims?
