So let me get this straight. Someone sets out with the intention of killing a "public official" with a gun, then realizes, oh shit, it's illegal to bring a gun within 1000 feet of a public official.  I'll just go ahead and forget that idea.

What a sad and pathetic mentality that is.

There are certainly people who need more protection than others because their jobs or circumstances place them in a greater degree of danger (presidents, federal witnesses, etc.).

But to argue that we are not all equal or that the possession of money makes a person's life more important than anothers only suggests that your own feelings of self worth are pathetically low and you wish to project them onto others.  Probably the historical basis for royalty - maybe...

Hate to tell you but that's capitalism.  By all measures success equals importance in this country.  The more successful are more important.  When was the last time you read about your neighbors transgressions as opposed to someone successful? 

Whether you like it or not successful people are deemed more important than others by the majority.  If you are i die our families will mourn us, if Trump dies thousands of people who he has never even met will mourn him.  Sad reality but the truth nonetheless.
