2011 Predictions!

Here's mine:

* GSP & Anderson will both defend their titles, forcing Dana to finally set up the super-fight between the two.
* Lesnar will beat JDS and again get mauled by Cain in the rematch.
* Rashad will regain the belt.
* Franky will beat Maynard in their rubber match.
* The Strikeforce Heavyweight tournament will fall apart.
* Uriah & Dominic Cruz will rematch.  Dominic will keep his belt.
* The UFC will finally make NY happen.

-Anderson will beat Okami, then Vitor, then either retire or fight GSP then retire
-GSP will clean out the WW division and then move up to 185. He will then either beat Silva and clean out 185, or just move up to 185 if the title is vacant and clean house there as well
-JDS will beat the dog shit out of Lesnar, eventually fight Cain and lose to Cain
-Fedor will beat Silva,  and then either avenge his loss to Werdum or beat Overeem and then lose in the final match of the grand prix; he will retire shortly after without ever fighting in the octagon
-SF will not fold anytime soon-  for at least another year it will be viable
-Jose Aldo will eventually end up at 155 and clean out the entire division-- eventually becoming the undisputed p4p best at 155
- Jon Jones will beat Ryan Bader by decision
- Rashad will be ko'd by Shogun, fight Rampage again and lose
- Rampage will lose a blood bath split decision to Thiago Silva, have a rematch with Forrest, beat Forrest and then fight Rashad again
- Mir will get a rematch with Carwin and get finished again by TKO

-Fedor will beat Silva,  and then either avenge his loss to Werdum or beat Overeem and then lose in the final match of the grand prix; he will retire

  This is interesting. Can you elaborate? If he beats Werdum and Overeem, don't you think he will win the Strifeforce Heavyweight Gran Prix? I think those two are a bigger challenge than Barnett and Brett Rogers.

I think he will wipe the floor with Silva, give it all he has against the winner of Overeem/ Werdum and win. But in the finale, I doubt he's going to have much left in his tank and Rogers/ Barnett are going to be very game. Rogers wants redemption and Barnett wants to prove he's still a top HW and avenge the Affliction debacle.

I don't have anything to back up this prediction besides my gut-- but I think Fedor is pretty much done with MMA after this tournament. He's approaching his late 30's, hes a hero in his country, has more money than he can spend, and will always be regarded as a legend. He doesn't love fighting for the sake of fighting and he doesn't need the money or prestige. If he beats Silva, then avenges his loss to Werdum or beats Overeem- and then loses to an all time great like Barnett-- a guy who he is actually friends with; I think Fedor will tip his cap to Barnett and then gracefully bow out. If he retires at 32-2, he has nothing to be ashamed of.

  Yeah, Beating Werdum in a rematch, then beating Barnett and Overeem would be an absolutely incredible way to end the career. Both Overeem and Barnett are as well rounded as the current UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez with added bonus of being much more experienced. If Fedor avenges his loss to Werdum then beats those two, he will go down as the G.O.A.T and not only among heavyweights but in all weight classes.

  But I have a gut hunch that Barnett will surprise everyone and win the tourny. He is just as well rounded as Fedor, but is 6'3 and 240 very lean pounds, and he has the superb wrestling that all other Strikeforce heavyweights lack.
