We all know the bodybuilding drug guru's.  Was wondering if there were known MMA drug guru's.

I don't understand.  Maybe I'm not clear.  In bodybuilding we have Milos, Chad Nichols, etc.  No secret. Maybe I should have said Nutritionists, but they're always referred to as "Drug Guru's".

Is there a separate group assisting MMA fighters, or are they the same names as in bodybuilding.

When you have a real sport like MMA, everyone knows how to get the most out of their bodies, and the ones that can offer "specialized" assistance are not brash like Milos, Chad, etc.

I guess that's a good point.  It's not as widely known and accepted as using gear is in bodybuilding.  So those that offer that support are much more discreet?  It is odd to me, though, that on this board of discussion and gossip, NO ONE was willing to suggest any potential names.

Larry. Apparently my first response didn't hit home my friend. Lol. I understand you would be very happy if you had a name but that isn't going to happen my friend. First off, in bodybuilding drug use is acceptable. In MMA, it is not. A majority of all MMA athletes are tested a few weeks prior to the fight, before the fight or within 24 hours after the fight if the pre-fight sample wasn't taken. These tests are usually random however almost all big name fights both opponents will be tested. Also almost all fighters are given a mandatory urine test if they go to the hospital the night of the fight. So now that you know that, no one in their right mind is gonna give you a name. There is no use drawing attention if you catch my drift. That being said, I can tell you this. Almost all top MMA athletes are using one or more performance enhancing substances. The few who get popped and you hear of are not "in the know" if you know what I mean.

There are a lot of aspects you don't know about when it comes to performance enhancing substances in MMA. Things you would never think of. Keep in mind it is VERY easy to get almost ANY athlete, regardless of age, on HRT. That is VERY easy to do and as long as proper notifications are made (see Chael Sonnen on this one) it is perfectly LEGAL. I am not gonna name names but can you think of an older fighter who seems to be progressing in his career even at an age where few think this is unheard of? Coincidence? Hmmm.

Now if a athlete was on HRT, blood plasma levels at the time of the fight could be higher than normal depending on what was given, how much and when. Get my drift yet? Maybe an athlete could time his dose to ensure proper performance. Hmmm. Or even possibly piggy back a custom like oral of short duration. Hmmm. Also HRT isn't the only way to go but it is a good alternative to masking. How an individual will Mask isn't something I'd be willing to discuss openly but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out Larry. The days of Epi are over. Synthetic urine is the way to go nowadays. Synthetic urine is so precise (from some reliable places) nowadays it can fool the most complex GCMS analyzers.

I hope this sheds a little light on your question even though you didn't really get your name. Or did you?  ;)

Two more things of noting. First, despite popular belief, Dana White has no influence on a NSAC, CSAC or any other governing bodies drug test. I always laugh when I hear this. Despite him being a world class douche he has no influence over a labs test. All tests are done by the athletic commission or sanctioning body and different vendors are contracted routinely for this very purpose. I can tell you this without reservation. And secondly one of the most used compounds is not so much a performance enhancing compound but a compound that helps to calm and relax a fighter from having his body over produce nor-epinephrine. It regulates release. Hope this helps......

I am in Portland.  However, I'm just starting MMA training.  I couldn't protect myself from what he would do after I asked him a drug question.
