Huckabee charges 'class warfare'
By ABBY PHILLIP | 02/18/11 11:14 AM Updated: 02/18/11 11:15 AM

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee berated President Obama on Friday for his "unfortunate involvement" in the Wisconsin labor protests.

In a Fox News interview, Huckabee said Obama is "trying to make this class warfare," out of a bill that would eliminate the collective bargaining rights of public sector workers in an effort to reduce the budget deficit.

"This is a president who would not be sitting in that office were it not for public sector unions who rallied for him in a significant way," Huckabee said. "He didn't have to go this far."

The former presidential contender told Fox News that Obama has been unduly influenced by public sector unions, and that he is now asking taxpayers to foot the bill for an overrun in pension and benefit costs.

"The president however, at risk of being indelicate, he's had more sleep-over's from Andy Stern at the SEIU than any other guest at the White House," Huckabee said.

"If the states go bankrupt, the people who want an extra 10 dollars will be losing thousands of dollars," he said.

I know the claim of "class warfare" is a dog whistle for Republicans but I think Huck's got his talking points wrong

what "class" is the state of Wisconsin?

btw - I'm suprised Huck even gives a shit what's going on in Wisconsin.

It's not like it's something important like abortion

No stupid - its the govt class of people v homeowners, taxpayers and the private sector.    Its really the govt v the middle class average taxpayer whocan't afford these insane taxes anymore.

The states and cities, who cant print money like the Fed, have to balance their books, and cat do so anymore with these never ending demands by these underworked, grossly overpaid, mini-madoffs.

He should have phrased it differently.   what these people in govt don't grasp is that they are unionizing against the taxpayer who can't afford their demands anymore.

The well is dry, and the sooner these idiots realize it the better.    Shit, even Cuomo, much to my delight and surprise, here in NY is telling these union people the same thing
