On all the the game shows I have seen they always say, "My wonderful wife___" or "my wonderful husband"

Because of the internets, any man who posts pics of their wife and introduces them as my "Beautiful Wife", is a delusional man, because she was possibly Beautiful 25 yrs and 80 pounds ago...

a lot of people can't get over first impressions

if she was beautiful 25 years ago, he still has that first impression in his head despite her looking much worse today

No, this is about when people introduce their spouses, especially on TV, what you can't think of anything else to say other than, "My wonderful husband" or "my beautiful wife"? It becomes sook cliche, that they have actually lost their meaning, and it's obvious that you are only saying it because you are on TV...

And 90% of the time any man on a Internet forum post pics of his wife and says, "Here is my 'beautiful wife', what do you think? Chances are dude needs a very powerful eyeglass prescription...

I had noticed this while watching Wheel of Fortune, and every damn time, they say the same damn thing, and it's a misnomer in our culture that "we" do this at parties and get-togetherz.
The question, is why?
