As commentator Ron Lieber filled out his taxes and saw all the breaks he's entitled to, he wondered why he qualifies for them at all.

Ron Lieber: The timing of all of this hubbub seems awfully appropriate. It is, after all, the moment when many of us begin adding up our contributions to state and federal coffers. Tax time, in other words.

As I began my own tally this year against this backdrop of political discord, I couldn't help but notice just how many breaks I get. First, a little about me: My household is upper middle class. Two incomes and only one child to spend the money on. But as with many of the breaks in taxland, the more you earn, the bigger the discounts you get. That's because you graduate to a higher income tax bracket. So any deductions are worth more to you -- and there are a lot of them.

I'm being honest here getbiggers; I filed my taxes this past Sunday ... federal bill alone for 2010: $47,345.

 Yup I can't stand taxes in the US.

 You pay taxes all year long. Then you gotta fill out tax forms again in April.

 The USA is the only country I can think of where you have to do this. Uncle Sam is a hustler and "we the people" are his rubes.

i wish I had a fckin kid


Id get back like 4grand instead of like 1800 that Im gettin returned



but over 70% of take home is in cash and I dont have to claim- still tho if I had kids and was on medicare of whatevr it is Id be rich bitch!!

You guys really have it made in the US.  I absolutely hate this time of year. Between income and captital gains it's a nice dent.

first you have to be a citizen to pay taxes

then you have to be on payroll and paid in checks so FICA and that shit can be taken out

I heard the same shit when i applied for Financial Aid at college's. People that hat DA kids always got like 15k and i got like three K.

Still can pick up some X-BOX 360 and PS3 games.  :D

God i wish i had a tax break.  I have paid $5k+ for past few years and it always hurts at end of year sending THE MAN another fat check after they take money out month after month.

I once knew a few mexicans whose dad was illegal and didnt pay any taxes but still made a good amount and everyone of them were driving nice cars and living large.  Made me mad as hell seeing them benefit from working here but not paying any taxes.

Anyone with a social security number & income "has" to pay taxes.
