Married or not, I sincere admire people who have stable and happy(!) longtime relationships.
Also a lifetime weightlifter?
Don't get me wrong....my marriage is great and we are happy together. However, I believe some folks can't make a relationship work because at the first sign of difficulty, they bail. It would be a rare relationship where two folks who have been together for a long time can say they've been consistently happy. Too many are never satisfied and always looking for something better then what they have.
This applies to weightlifting and bodybuilding too. I don't have the genetics to be a bodybuilder; both my parents were tall skinny people. I was a tall painfully skinny kid. When I started lifting weights to get bigger, I didn't see results like some teenagers do. I sure didn't look like Arnold or other guys from that era. However, I didn't let this discourage me, I never gave up. Although I still don't look like a huge muscle dude, I look and feel a whole lot better than the average Joe my age or any age for that matter.
Off to the gym now to work quads; -leg extensions, various calf exercises, leg presses and hack squats. My damn quads are going to be 28" some day if I keep it up....and I will.
