Finally, something Palin and I agree on!
Sarah Palin said the news media hold women in politics to a different standard than men, especially when it comes to conservatives such as herself and Rep. Michele Bachmann.
"Women are held to a different standard in all areas," Palin said Wednesday night on Fox News. "Let's work harder, produce more and better and get over it. I'm through whining about a liberal press that holds conservative women to a different standard because it doesn't do any good to whine about it."
Palin's comment came in response to a question from host Greta van Susteren, who asked the former GOP vice presidential nominee about the treatment Bachmann, R-Minn., received when she mistakenly said the Revolutionary War battles of Lexington and Concord were fought in New Hampshire.
Palin, who is thinking about running for president in 2012, frequently refers to the press as the "lamestream media." Read her entire Fox News interview here.
Van Susteren also asked Palin about a vulgarity directed at her by Bill Maher. The National Organization for Women came to Palin's defense this week, condemning Maher in a blog post. The ex-Alaska governor said she doesn't need women's advocacy groups such as NOW to come to her defense.
"My point is when a shot is taken at me, it is water off the duck's back because I know the important things we need to concentrate on," Palin said. "If somebody says something that is not true ... I"m not going to retreat. I will reload and tell them what I think about them and hold them accountable for what they say about other women."

Bachmann recently charged that the media have a double standard when it comes to reporting on conservatives.
