 Most of them are ex-punk rockers who had to get mature and get a job as they approached 30. So they transitioned from punk to rockabilly.

This is so true its beyond funny.
I was a metalhead in high school, and all my friends that were into punk did exactly what you said as they got older, transitioned into rockabilly and building rat rod cars, wearing they hair slicked back with cig cartons rolled up in their white t-shirt sleeves.
