so it was a-okay for the govt to give 300 mil to them - because the debt and deficit was small? So you're okay with what PP does, and think the govt should be paying for 14 year old sluts to get rubbers?

and the reality was neither was small then either and at the time was the fourth largest budget deficit in history (see if you notice a pattern)

1. 2004 (George W. Bush) $413 billion
2. 2003 (George W. Bush) $378 billion
3. 2005 (George W. Bush) $318 billion
4. 2006 (George W. Bush) $296 billion (projected)
5. 1992 (George H. W. Bush) $290 billion

Even these numbers don't reflect how bad things were at that time

Even World Net Daily was writing about this and they actually showed the authors name on the article: http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=39292

So.......why is a smart guy like 333 so utterly misinformed about the deficit and debt from 2006 (he only had the last 5 years to get the actual facts)

Its all in relation to GDP.    And i agree wit you about GWB - God how many ties do I have to trash him already!

But just because GWB was reckless does not make it ok for bama to be reckless.

good point

the Repubs have beeny lying about that since the 1980's in order to intentionally explode the debt (mostly in order to steal from the tax payers in order to enrich themselves and their corporate cronies)

So Straw - what did the dems do between 1992 - 1994?   2006-2010? qwhen they controlled the congress alone?

still had Bush's in office during most of that time and Dems didn't "control congress alone".   As you know, many Dems voted with the Repubs (even in this last session of Congress) but you almost never see any Repubs voting with Dems

our current deficit includes the Bush tax cuts which virtually all Dems (including Obama) wanted to let expire.   Our current deficit also includes Bush's wars (which he conveniently left out of his budget)

Those "Bush Tax Cuts", according to the CBO, are about 70billion of the total deficit. Those are a red herring.

Yes. This was all hashed out during the fight extend/stop the tax cuts for the "rich".

It's all theater, really. Until entitlements/defense spending/growth of government and tax law are addressed  nothing really changes.

so the Repubs who were so concerned about spending cuts that they almost shut down the government over $300 million in funding to Planned Parenthood and eventually agreed to 38.5 billion in spending cuts actually contributed 70 billion to the current years deficit by insisting on extending the Bush Tax Cuts

I agree with you

this is all theater.....and the show sucks
