McCain calls Libyan rebels "heroes"
« on: April 22, 2011, 03:44:45 PM »
Let's face it - just like on many other issues - we are in the same boat with obama as we'd be with mccain.  In fact, President mccain would be training the al-quaida rebels and giving them a buttload of money and weapons.

BENGHAZI, Libya (AP) -- U.S. Sen. John McCain called for increased military support for Libya's rebels Friday, including weapons, training and stepped-up airstrikes, in a full-throated endorsement of the opposition in its fight to oust Moammar Gadhafi.

I like McCain, but it makes no sense to back a group when it's unclear whether that group is friend or foe.

I think it's pretty clear they're our enemies - many are al-quida.
just as kadaffi and his bunch are our enemies.

at this point - no matter what he says (and we can assume he may not announce his real strategy) - Maybe Obama just wants to help two groups of a-holes kill each other for a few years lol..............

I mean, you hear people talking about how we should just bomb the middle east to a parking lot.  maybe this is how it's done ;)

And I have to think - if Bush had managed to destabilize a dictator liike kadaffi while killing off a bunch of al-Q pricks without losing a single american life, we'd be throwing him a parade.

How do you know many are Al Qaeda?  I've heard they may be involved, but that it was unclear.

I heard on fox news that everyone who lives there is al-quida.

How many 'flickers' of al-Q do you want to send money, weapons and training to?  My answer is zero.  When their commander admits the US Aid will be going to some Al-Q members, that's kinda a problem.

However, IMO, mccain and friends knew going in what this would be - a nice slow bloody stalemate in which a whole bunch of people kill each other and a terrorist is undermined.  He's not a "winner" - he killed americans.  Only people like trump will deal with him.

So yeah, if it ends up being a 2 or 3 year stalemate, kadaffi is weakened, and a lot of al-Q die... is it a loss for us?   ???

I don't support any of my money being spent supporting Al Qaeda.  Was just asking for your source that "many" of the rebels are Al Qaeda.

It's sad that a veteran like McCain has become so brainwashed and disillusioned by Washington DC culture.

Mccain showin signs of dementia.

many people believed this leading up to the 2008 elections, and decided not to vote for him as a result.  You have to wonder about the judgment of a voting base which believed he was the best bet.

Do you think independent voters show poor judgment?

A (Gallup) study shows that only 35% of our independents now approve of the work our president is doing.

So they're wrong when they say obama is doing a poor job?

or is it possible that Independent voters are finally showing some better judgment, learning from mistakes of the past?

They are fickle.

hard to criticize them for hating on palin, but praise them for hating on obama.  They're either wisening up, or they're not.

In the totally improbable yet amusing match-up, Palin takes only 36 percent of independents to the troubled actor’s 41 percent, according to a Public Policy Polling survey out Thursday.
