I've received worse beatings - you don't know what a beating is unless have been beaten by your "father" to an extend that you are passing out.
This would have been tickling for me at a certain stage in my life.

i don't remember my dad ever hitting me, my mom used to do the whaling.

i remember my parents went on some trip when i was a kid, and brought me back one of those machine guns that had the tip light up when you pulled the trigger.  this being the early-mid 80's, this was all the rage.  then i fucked something up, and my dad crushed the toy in front of me.  that hurt worse than anything.

years later, my mom told me he was almost crying later because he felt so bad.  i told her "so? he shouldn't have broken it".

I got beat because I was a bit of a bastard growing up and a bit because my parents had a short temper.

When I have kids of my own I'll give them a light smack on the ass. I think being involved in the kid's life and always talking to them to build a great open relationship is key to raising a good person.

It's 10 times worse punishment when you get the silent treatment from your parents like you've disappointed them, than any beating.
