GSP gets eye poked...
« on: May 02, 2011, 08:54:19 AM »

That's absolutely flagarant.  Why would he throw an open hand punch ::)

GSP could have had the fight stopped that there, but he continued on and dominated Shields.

It's not intentional at all MS.  You should know that some fighters don't throw punches at 100% all the time.  Some throw light punches etc, then hard 100% punches.

I seriously doubt Sheilds did this on purpose.  Looks to me as if he was testing range.

What Rd was this intentional poke? Rd3?

Shields landed several jabs to GSP's eye as well.  In the corner after Rd3 when GSP is complaining about his vision, he also has a mouse and small cut.

Oh wow.  Wish the ref woulda let it go another sec or two to see if Randy coulda defended.  Nice kick though.

That poke was in round 2.

There is another angle in that KO where you see Randy's eyes rolling in the back of his head.  When he hits the ground he just covered up and waited for the ref to stop it.

They train to do eye pokes.  You never throw jabs with an open hand.  I think it was intentional.  Liddell was notorious for it.  But, it's just my opinion...

I agree

Karate Kid crane kick .. Machida said his Dad and Steven Seagal trained him for that ... I keep wondering if he was really counting on an opening for it or just saw the chance and took it hoping for the best
