
this is in finnish, but anyway it shows the effective combined average income tax rate in usa is 24,30% whereas in finland it's 37,20%...the highest rate, 42,60%, is in italy and lowest, 13,00% in russia....in russia everyone also pays same percentage of his income into taxes, whereas in finland the progression of taxation is one of steepest in the world.
last column shows the the income level after which one is supposed to pay the highest marginal tax, in finland it's 66400€, around 99000$. in usa similar level is way higher, 268600€, approx. 400000$. in switzerland, on the other hand, you need to earn almost 800000$ a year to belong into the highest tax category...
