i think the cowboy diplomacy thing was attributed to phrases like 'bring it on', which Bush has said he regretted as one of the biggest mistakes of his presidency.

cost a lot of ppl their lives.  Obama in some cowboy hat at some campaign stop in 2008, it did not.
